Whether you sit or stand, you’re going to end up with the same problem and probably a worsened version of it progressing on into the future.

I get it.

You experience pain when you sit in your neck, back or joints. So you stand up.

Makes sense.

It seems like the logical thing to do. I don’t blame you for trying.

After all, chairs, desks, computers, couches or cars all cause neck and back issues.

Don’t they?

Well…

Not exactly.

Testament to this is switching up the furniture in attempts to create a more “ergonomic” workspace.

If ergonomic issues aren’t based in your workspace, where do they reside?

Now, I’m not accusing you of being a piece of furniture. But…

While ergonomics can provide some temporary relief, it (a) reveals that standing can be just as painful and, (b) in the long term, will circle back to the same problem: non-chronic not annoying pain, tension and stress you end up carrying in your neck, shoulders and back.

Want to know what the real problem is?

Before I say it, understand that I’m not challenging your intelligence. It’s so obvious you may think I am.

I’m not.

This is something EVERYONE overlooks. And, missing it, you have no choice but to focus on what seems obvious…

The ergonomic issue is not external – it’s internal!

It’s not the structure of your desk, your chair, your car seat, couch, bed or whatever. It’s the structure of your structure – your frame and how off-balance it has become.

Sitting (or standing) at a desk all day, driving in a car, sitting on the couch or even sleeping should not (and do not) cause the pain and physical stress you have.

Testament to this is all the ergonomically designed furniture, providing only temporary relief if any at all.

The problem is with the off-balance nature of your own frame. Your posture is the problem. And normal everyday activities only irritate your own “internal ergonomic” problem.

Ergonomic furniture is designed based on perfect posture, something most people probably don’t have.

So, simply switching up your furniture, standing instead of sitting, and even taking frequent breaks are “solutions” that only provide relief, temporary at best.

Can you rid yourself of stress you carry in your shoulders neck and back and irritation from working environments?

Can you get rid of non-chronic pain or stress you carry in your neck, shoulders, back or joints?

Only if you know this one critical thing…

What is this secret that unlocks the ability to have a pain-free experience in all these life activities?

I wish I could tell you specifically. I mean, I can tell you, but that requires a little deeper look. But, more on that in a second…

The problem is that your posture has a basic natural blueprint, and is designed to support proper body function. Without proper posture, function suffers.

And I mean each and every body function you have.

Unfortunately, the fix to structure that has gone off its natural balance is not just to “sit up straighter”, prop yourself up with pillows, stand instead of sit or any of these other relief-type measures.

If that were the case, your sit-stand desk would solve every problem you have and there would be no more pain or discomfort.

The problem with off-balance structure is that there have been accumulations, over your entire life, of off-balance factors in your basic structure.

The good news is they all trace back to a singular, physical (AND LOCATABLE) cause! Yes, we can find the SOURCE of what ails you.

That’s why I can’t tell you specifically. There is a cause to be found in everyone’s case. It’s just that every single person has a different accumulation of physical stresses than the next. No two are the same.

That’s why SCREENING is so important. This isolates the exact area that is holding all of this in place.

Ergonomic solutions in the absence of finding this cause are not only ineffective, they could be prolonging or worsening the cause of the pain and stress you carry.

So, save your money trying to resolve the issue in the absence of finding the cause. For anything therapeutic to start working, you need to take a diagnostic approach.

What can you do to find your specific cause and address the real problem?

Grab your phone and call me at (777) 888-9999.

It starts with a screening. That’s all you need to do.

If you need a little convincing, walk over to the mirror and look at your neck, shoulders and hips. How does your posture look? Does it look balanced or not?

Now reconsider your symptoms. Then, just call me.

The screening will give you the answers as to what you can do to correct it. Don’t accept ANY therapeutic or “corrective” solution from ANYBODY until you know exactly what needs to be corrected.

And I can help you find that out…

Focus on handling the REAL problem instead of living or working with it for the rest of your career and life!

Your finder of the real cause of your ergonomic issues,

Has Work Become a ‘Pain In the Desk’? https://internalergonomics.com/is-work-a-pain-in-the-desk/ Wed, 04 Oct 2023 16:26:37 +0000 https://internalergonomics.com/?p=64 When pain and stiffness from work or daily activity become a ‘pain in the desk’, there’s something you should know…

Would you ever say work is a pain in the desk?

I won’t insult you. You would NEVER say that.

But, if that’s true, why do companies and corporations large and small spend collective billions of dollars per year on sit-stand desks, ergonomic chairs and other expensive “solutions” to the aches, pains, stiffness and discomfort people experience while working?

Is it really helping?

When you look at it from my standpoint, seeing these same people, with all their “posture-perfect solutions”, come through the door with problems that have been worsening, not getting better, you start to get the idea that people are addressing the wrong issue.

And it’s true.

This is because the ergonomics of work (or any daily activity really) are not in the work environment but in each person’s structural mechanics.

In other words, pain, stiffness and “carrying your stress” in your neck, shoulder, back or joints are issues that are on the inside, not the outside!

And, they’re different and unique for everyone. No two are the same!

When you think about it, doesn’t this make more sense?

If you still aren’t convinced, consider this…

Take any “posture-perfect”, ergonomically-designed chair, cushion, pillow, sit-stand desk, car seat or any other device and look at its basic design…

Want a free employee lunch and learn lecture or massage day*?

What are ‘posture-perfect’ devices designed based on?

The answer is Perfect Posture!

Now, have you checked your posture lately? Most people are aware of theirs, but if you haven’t looked lately, go have a look in the mirror, right now…

I’ll wait…

Have you met anyone with “perfect posture lately? And, for that matter, how far from perfect posture are you, and have you been for some years now?

Instantly from this, you can see that all these designs are based on a person who has perfect posture and, therefore, are not by any means therapeutic.

So, what if you don’t have perfect posture (like most people walking around)? Ergonomic designs are useless.

Do you see the logic at work here?

Now, by the same logic, if you wanted to make work more “comfortable” for someone, you would have to design a chair or desk (or any other device) around their imperfect posture, to cradle their specific structural imperfections and imbalances.

This is, of course, impractical as it doesn’t address each person’s real, structural and very physical imbalance causing the actual problem.

What is the REAL way to end discomfort from work or daily activities?

There is no such thing as a “pain in the desk” but there is a reason why desks and chairs can hurt.

But, despite this fact, they’re not supposed to hurt.

So what do you do?

To truly correct it, you would need a way of:

(a) understanding what perfect posture is,
(b) consulting the body’s blueprint for the best posture for proper function,
(c) measuring of how far “off-design” your posture is,
9d) locating what specific, physical thing is causing it to be that way and,
(e) devising a plan to correct the actual cause, permanently.

How do you make normal, daily activities to stop hurting for good?

To take steps to address this, you’d have to follow the (above) 5 guidelines for true correction. No ergonomic furniture required!

Your first step (and the mistake everyone makes by omitting) is not anything therapeutic!

How could it be if you don’t yet know the specific cause of the problem?

Your first step is a comprehensive screening of not only your symptoms but also your body’s departure from its original design.

Your less-than-perfect posture is way more significant than you’ve ever given it credit for, as you can now see here! All you need to do is one thing to address it:

Get screened, preferably by a Doctor of Chiropractic or posture expert and professional like myself. This is what employees of companies need above and beyond ANYTHING therapeutic. NO course of action should ever be pursued in the absence of isolating the cause.

Otherwise, you’re just randomly “fixing” things when you may be masking and making worse the real source of the problem in the process.

Yes, there are state-of-the-art, therapeutic methods of intervention in physical medicine, and people rave about the results they get from it. But that shouldn’t be relevant or interest you just yet.

All of them had one thing in common: they started with proper screening and we found their, specific, individual cause, unique to them and only them!

And we were, then able to address the actual problem!

So, I suggest you start the same way. Reach out to me for a free screening, lunch and learn or even an employee massage day*. I’ll take care of the rest!
