Real Workspace Ergonomics: A More Economical Address to Productivity and Morale

All the ‘Posture Perfect’ Office Furniture In the World Won’t Correct the Real Problem: Imperfect Internal Structure (Posture), i.e. Internal Ergonomics…

Internal Ergonomics is the crucial difference. Ergonomic office furniture, even sit-stand desks, are designed with perfection of posture in mind. The basic blueprint for their structure is designed on Nature’s blueprint for the human frame.

Sounds like a good premise. But consider this…

When you put an imperfect human frame into one designed on a perfect one, similar discomfort results, the very problem such furniture was designed to solve. In fact, if it was comfort you had in mind, it would be better to design furniture based upon someone’s imperfect structure, thereby “cradling” their existing shape and form, prolonging any issues they have, but making them much more comfortable.

But, therein lay the core error in workplace ergonomics that results in a complete waste of budget funds, the incorrect source of the problem pursued as the problem: DISCOMFORT.

Discomfort. mistaken as a “workspace issue” in nature, is only a mere symptom of the real issue at hand. Individually, employees have their own, unique issues, where no two are the same, as a result of the cumulative stresses on their basic structure throughout their entire lives. Such accumulations or traumas, stresses, and other breakdowns and weakening of their basic structure leave them prone to discomfort in the most menial situations.

To say nothing of sports or exercise, sitting in a chair, looking at a computer monitor or even standing and walking become challenges and create the non-chronic yet aggravating pains people suffer from. Addressing this externally with office furniture is helpful, but it isn’t the solution.

By our corporate survey of over 50,000 employees from 1997 to present day, complaints abound of “carrying stress” in their neck, shoulders and back, as well as pain, fatigue and discomfort.

The Internal Ergonomics program is predicated on education, raising of employee self-awareness and address to their structural issues with posture via training, education, screening and even evaluation, and includes for non-invasive corrective measures.

The results of corporate and university studies show astounding results in employee morale and productivity increasing, proportionate to the reduction of pain, pain which they were predisposed to and is NOT caused by their job or workspace. By placing the correct address, employees are less stressed and more focused.

Simplicity at it’s finest, but good news for the bottom line, eliminating millions wasted on furniture that is not advancing toward a real solution and getting the desired result
